Chapel Down Vineyards
Chapel Down own two vineyards in Kent with the vineyard in Tenterden being the home of Chapel Down. The vineyard in Tenterden has 23 acres of south-facing slopes where varieties including Bacchus, Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay are grown. Visitors are welcome at the Tenterden winery, and are able to stroll around the grounds, including the Herb Garden, they are also able to visit the Wine and Food Store, the fine dining restaurant, as well as partake in a range of tour and tasting experiences.
Chapel Down wines have been served at the House of Commons, several Government departments and at several overseas embassies. Many of their still and sparkling wines are award winners.
Chapel Down Flint Dry is created from a medley of different varieties including Chardonnay, Huxelrebe and Bacchus, blended to create a well-balanced wine. Similar in style to Chablis, Chapel Down Flint Dry has an intense palate with flavours of pear, almond and citrus.
This wine will match all white meats well, though Chapel Down are quite specific in recommending this wine is paired with with a pork escalope in a honey and wholegrain mustard sauce.
