Camel Valley vineyard
Camel Valley vineyard was started in 1989 by Bob and Annie Lindo who had moved to the Cornwall countryside for a better life and started off farming sheep and cattle. Watching the sun drench the slopes of Camel Valley they wondered if vines would grow well... They were right and their first wine won a medal. Over 20 years and many medals and awards later Camel Valley are considered one of the best in the UK. Carrying on the family tradition of producing award winning wines is son Sam Lindo who won the Trophy for "Best International Traditional Method Sparkling Wine" in 2010, ahead of Bollinger and Roederer.
Camel Valley Brut is a refined, fruity sparkling wine. The wine makers decided not to use the traditional grapes used for Champagne, instead choosing seyval blanc, reichensteiner and huxelrebe, these are slowly matured which gives the wine it's delicate flavours. Perfect for celebrating alongside a light appetiser. Jane Macquitty, wine expert for The Times, described Camel Valley Brut 2007 as "lovely, typically floral, light and lively" and "Britain's best value sparkler".
Camel Valley also produce Fortnum and Masons English Sparkling Wine, a fantastic sparkling wine, a strong rival to Champagne, especially for Fortnum and Masons.
